Compress Video to a Target Size shrinks a clip to fit a specific limit instead of a vague "quality level". Pick a preset — 8 MB (Discord free), 10 MB, 16 MB (WhatsApp), 25 MB (Gmail and Outlook attachments), 50 MB — or type any number of megabytes. The tool reads the duration, calculates the exact video bitrate that fits with a small safety margin, and, when the budget is very tight, lowers the resolution to 720p or 480p so the picture stays watchable instead of turning into blocks.
Encoding happens locally in your browser with ffmpeg.wasm (H.264 video, AAC audio, fast-start MP4): the file is never uploaded, there is no signup and no watermark. Results typically land within a few percent under the target; if the source is already below the limit the tool tells you instead of re-encoding it for nothing.
